Before Night Falls 2 (The Sequel)

The first movie BEFORE NIGHT FALLS hit the top three of the 2022 national box office chart in Indonesia during the nationwide theatrical run. It reached 600,000 audience during nationwide theatrical release there, with covid restriction in place at that time (only 70% capacity allowed in the cinemas). The film was also on cinema releases in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Cambodia.

The movie is based on real events in an Indonesian village where several young people who had mental illnesses were treated mystically. They were put in a house called a Pasung House. These young people were mistreated. Even now, in some villages in Indonesia, there are still people with mental illness experiencing this kind of treatment.

This movie has strong social, cultural, mystical and superstitious issues that make the story outstanding.

BEFORE NIGHT FALLS (Menjelang Magrib) is one of the most successful movies in Indonesia and South-east Asia in 2022.

The movie also took part as an official selection in Movie Festivals such as Mollins Film Festival, Sombra Film Festival, Sabadell Film Festival.
